Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a significant public health concern, with an estimated 13.5 million Americans currently living with TBI-related disabilities.

In Georgia alone, over 30,000 people sustain a TBI each year, yet brain injury remains largely silent and unseen.

In fact, The Brain Injury Association of America estimates that of the one in 60 people in the U.S. who have sustained a traumatic brain injury, only 2% of people obtain rehabilitation and other services needed to aid recovery because of high costs, insurance gaps, widespread lack of knowledge about brain injury, and shortage of services.

Please Help Us Raise Money for Side by Side

Side-by-Side-stacked-logo-RGB

Since 2000, Side by Side has provided a supportive environment that lets adults suffering from brain injuries redevelop social and work-related skills in a meaningful, productive way and at their own pace.

People with brain injuries come from every walk of life. They’re business executives. Teachers. Athletes. Returning veterans. After they come home from the hospital, they face a big unknown: “Will I need non-stop caregiving from my family? Will I be able to work again? Will I have friends, colleagues and live a productive life?” Side by Side helps hundreds of people in Georgia’s brain injury community address these unknowns.

Side by Side is the only work-oriented day program in Georgia that specifically supports adults with brain injuries - and their families - for as long as they choose. With help from Atlanta’s Shepherd Center and Emory University to get us started, we have been partnering with people on their goals toward self-sufficiency for over two decades.

Help Support Side by Side with Our Fundraising Event

WHEN:
March 5th, 2024
1:00 p.m. EST

WHERE:
Side by Side Clubhouse &
Livestream on Facebook

GOAL:
$10,000
Donate to shave or NOT to shave

Unknown

To support the work and mission of Side by Side, Miles Mediation & Arbitration’s CEO, Parag Shah, will join Joshua Stein of Sports 'N Torts for a special podcast interview on March 5th at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. The podcast will broadcast live from the Brain Injury Clubhouse in Stone Mountain, or you can catch the live stream on J. Stein Law Firm's Facebook.

The goal? To raise money for this organization. To up the ante, Parag has vowed to shave his head — live, on the podcast, if we meet our goal of raising $10,000 for Side by Side!

But there’s a twist.
If you don’t want Parag to have to shave his luxurious locks, you can donate in favor of him keeping his hair, which will lower our donation goal by that amount. If you can’t wait to see him take a razor to his head, donate in favor of the shave (you can specify on the donation page). Your donations will determine whether we reach $10k and he shaves his head during the interview, so watch our “will-he-or-won’t-he-shave” ticker from now until the day of the livestream.
